Policy to Practice: Falls in Adults with Intellectual Disabilities

Falls occur at a younger age for adults with intellectual disability than the general population and are a major cause of serious injury and hospitalization. This webinar, Falls and Intellectual Disabilities, will summarize the findings from a large-scale study called the Longitudinal Health and Intellectual Disability Study or LHIDS on the prevalence of falls, a comparison with the general population, and the risk factors for falls in adults with intellectual disabilities. Policy implications and recommendations will be discussed.
