LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series: Implementation Science
The March LEND and Learn Monthly TA Session will be held on Monday, March 25, 2024, at 3:00 PM ET. The topic of this session is Implementation Science. Implementation Science is the scientific study of using methods and strategies to promote the use of evidence-based practice and research by practitioners and policymakers across community service systems caring for individuals with Autism/DD.

LEND Lived Experience Virtual Summit
We are excited to invite you to the LEND Lived Experience Summit! The summit will be held via Zoom on Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5, 2024, from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM Eastern Time. The LEND Self-Advocate Discipline Network and LEND Family Discipline Network voted to join forces for future summits to showcase the work and best practices in both LEND disciplines.

Medicaid Education 101 for Trainees: Learn About Medicaid and Home and Community Based Services
AUCD hosted an educational webinar for trainees to learn about the structure and financing of the Medicaid program and Home and Community-Based Services. The speakers provided an overview of the Medicaid program and its structure and financing. The webinar also provided an overview of what is happening in Congress and the Administration regarding the Medicaid program.

The LEND and Learn session will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at 3:00 PM ET. The date of the LEND and Learn event was changed due to the observance of the September holidays. The September session will focus on Title V collaboration and partnership opportunities for LEND programs. The session will be facilitated by Paige Bussanich, Associate Director for Child Health and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN) at The Association of Maternal & Child Health Programs (AMCHP).

2023 Disability Policy Seminar Orientation and Policy Education 101 Workshop: Preparing to Educate Policymakers in DC and at Home
This workshop helped trainees learn how to educate policymakers in DC and at home. It also taught trainees how to connect their experience and expertise to policy. Finally, the workshop helped prepare trainees for the virtual 2023 Disability Policy Seminar that was on Monday, April 24th, and the fly-in hill day on Thursday, April 27th.

The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network Presents: Introduction of the LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Competencies
The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network (LSDN) aims to strengthen the Self-Advocacy discipline across the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) network by supporting self-advocate trainees and faculty, developing best practices, and providing leadership opportunities across the LEND network. The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Competencies are a product of the LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network.

Caregiver Coaching through Telehealth: Benefits, Challenges, and Opportunities
We will provide a discussion of caregiver coaching strategies over telehealth using two different Naturalistic Developmental Behavioral Interventions (NDBIs) and consider options for multiple formats (synchronous and asynchronous). Benefits and challenges to using telehealth technology for caregiver coaching will be explored. A parent of a young child with autism who participated in coaching, both in-person and through telehealth, will share her experiences.
