The webinar will feature a brief overview of the 2023 Academy curriculum and timeline. This will be followed by a time for questions from potential applicants to the 2023 AUCD Leadership Academy. In addition, alumni will share their reflections about the benefits they gained from participation in the week-long academy. and the follow-up activities.

Importance of Sexual Health for Individuals with IDD
Sexual health is an important topic for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Unfortunately, conversations related to sexual health are often not fully addressed or are pushed aside because of fear, lack of comfort with the topic, or lack of information. Join us for a webinar on the importance of sexual health for individuals with IDD. Participants will hear from Joe Shapiro from NPR and Barbara Thomas from the Tall Institute as they discuss why this sensitive topic needs to be addressed.

Live Webcast - Improving the Trajectories for Youth with Disabilities and Families Living in Poverty: Systems Change in 11 PROMISE States
The U.S. Department of Education's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the U.S. Department of Labor and the U.S. Social Security Administration, funded six model demonstration projects to improve the education and career outcomes of low income children with disabilities receiving SSI and their families. Findings from the implementation of these projects will be presented in this session.

AUCD Leadership Academy
The AUCD Leadership Academy is a weeklong program designed to enhance the skills of current and emerging leaders from the disability network in building coalitions that will improve systems of supports and services. The AUCD Leadership Academy seeks participants from UCEDDs, LENDs, and their disability partners to come together to immerse themselves for a week of study, shared experiences, self-evaluation, and skill development. Participants will continue to engage with their cohort, academy staff, local coaches, and national allies in the year following the experience. The academy will focus on the exploration of shared values and commitments to civil and human rights, assessments of personal and leadership strengths, skills in building partnerships to achieve collective impact, and establishing personal and professional leadership goals.

We are constantly seeking ways to best connect the content we develop, particularly research findings, with targeted audiences. It can often be difficult to translate scholarly work in a way that is impactful and accessible to the general public. The utilization of infographics is one compelling way to support dissemination objectives. This webinar discussed what infographics are, why they are important, and how communicators can take advantage of this effective approach.

In order to best support and serve persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, we must be aware of potential genetic impacts on behavioral and psychiatric symptoms.This presentation will provide an overview of 8 of the most common genetic syndromes that lead to intellectual disability. Related behavioral phenotypes, medical conditions, and physical features will be described for each.
