AUCD, The Arc of the United States, United Cerebral Palsy, AAIDD, SABE, and the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities are joining together again to host the 2010 Disability Policy Seminar.

The webinar will explore a cultural beliefs and influences that often converge when an individual is faced with end-of-life decisions within the contexts of the legal system, the health care system, community and social networks, spirituality or the faith community, and the family.

This webinar will introduce participants to a newly-developed online resource devoted to promoting reproductive health care for women with disabilities. This interactive recorded program, "Reproductive Health Care for Women with Disabilities," was developed through a partnership between the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and is designed to be an easily navigable source of information to assist clinicians providing care to women with physical, developmental, and sensory disabilities. The webinar will conclude with a question and answer period.

Current topics in health care access and policy, surveillance, evaluation, developing your success story, and community partners were examined in concurrent breakout sessions, networking socials, and round table discussions. Plenary panels featured engaging, interactive dialogue on critical issues which impact all partners at a national, regional, and state level, such as emergency preparedness, measuring success, and access to health care for people with disabilities.

Please join the Friends of NCBDDD for this webinar to inform disability and health organizations, researchers, public health practitioners and key influencers about the All of US Research Program, as well as the importance of including people with disabilities in this large inclusive research program. The American Association on Health and Disability (AAHD) is partnering with NIH to increase awareness about this important and inclusive national research program. The webinar will include information about ways the disability community can be engaged in this national effort across communities in the United States.
