An Introduction to Embedding Cultural Diversity and Cultural and Linguistic Competence: A Guide for UCEDD Curricula and Training Activities

This webinar will: (1) introduce the Embedding Project to the members of the NTDC; and (2) share the array of resources and tools designed to build the capacity of network programs to embed widely accepted Cultural and Linguistic Competence (CLC) policies, structures, and practices across the four UCEDD core functions of interdisciplinary pre-service training and continuing education, community services, research and evaluation, and information dissemination.

2018 AUCD Trainee Summit

On Sunday evening immediately before the Disability Policy Seminar, AUCD is hosting a special Trainee Policy Summit! Attendees will have exclusive access to Hill staffers and former trainees now working in policy, and learn from the experts how to best craft your message for Wednesday's Hill visits. An evening reception will provide a comfortable background for trainees to meet and network with over 200 peers from around the country.

AUCD Leadership Academy

The AUCD Leadership Academy is a week-long program designed to enhance the skills of current and emerging leaders from the disability network in building coalitions that will improve systems of supports and services. Participation is open to individuals from Self Advocacy Organizations, UCEDDs, LENDs, IDDRCs, CILs, DD Councils, Disability Rights, community based disability organizations, and other disability partners to come together to immerse themselves for a week of study, shared experiences, self-evaluation, and skill development. Participants will continue to engage with their cohort, academy staff, local coaches, and national allies in the year following the experience. The academy will focus on the exploration of shared values and commitments to civil and human rights, assessments of personal and leadership strengths, skills in building partnerships to achieve collective impact, and establishing personal and professional leadership goals.

ABLE: The Big Picture

This webinar will use the ABLE Act as an ongoing case study in disability policy, from legislation development and passage to implementation, evaluation, and revision. It will also help trainees and practicing professionals feel more confident in their abilities to advocate for ABLE accounts and other structural solutions that support positive outcomes for their patients/clients across the lifespan.

19th Annual Chronic Illness and Disability Conference: Transition from Pediatric to Adult-based Care

AUCD is proud to support the online broadcast of the Baylor College of Medicine's: 19th Annual Chronic Illness and Disability Conference: Transition from Pediatric to Adult-based Care. All MCH Training Programs, UCEDDs, and their collaborators (Title V, clinical partner sites, etc.) are invited and encouraged to participate remotely. Host a live stream of this conference for trainees, faculty, staff, families, and others at your center or program. Eligible broadcast sites include MCH training programs, UCEDDs, and Title V programs.
