This Twitter chat will engage the overall disability community in a conversation on oral health and encourage sharing of helpful resources. Based on what is shared, AUCD's National Center on Disability in Public Health will create a brief, which will be available by the ADA Anniversary at the end of July.

The 143rd AAIDD Annual Meeting will provide a forum for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, students and advocates to learn about innovations in our field that are being translated and implemented on a grander scale. Through knowledge translation we can change practices and policies through effectively communicating our research and creating change at all levels. In a political climate that is complex and dynamic, it is important to remain relevant through the thoughtful translation of our knowledge.

Each year the Center for Diversity in Public Health Leadership Training organizes the Room to Grow: Journey to Cultural and Linguistic Competency. The conference brings national speakers to present on the latest research and practice related to addressing and reducing socially determined health disparities.

The Division for Early Childhood of the Council for Exceptional Children is in the process of developing the first ever, stand alone, Early Intervention/Early Childhood Special Education Personnel Preparation Standards. Learn more about the standards,what led to this important step forward for the EI/ECSE workforce and what it means to the Early Childhood Field/Systems. We will share opportunities to provide feedback to the DEC Standards Development Task Force.

Most professional believe that early intervention (EI) is essential to improving outcomes for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. But how early is "early?" Should screening identify newborns with IDD, even before symptoms appear? Is there value in "pre-symptomatic" EI for children or families? Are pre-symptomatic treatments powerful enough to alter developmental trajectories in meaningful ways? Using fragile X syndrome to exemplify these issues, this presentation describes Early Check, a research program in which screening newborns for several disorders is offered to 120,000 families per year.

This webinar is part of an on-going series that addresses self-advocate questions about relationships and sexuality. This series is a great learning opportunity for self-advocates, and professionals and paraprofessionals working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to better understand sexual health needs.

Steps on how to work with personal care attendants and direct support providers will be reviewed. Be safe in your relationships - what does social distancing mean in your friendships and relationships.

Join AUCD's Town Hall on Disability Integration with Public Health and Emergency Response as a space for sharing health related programs and projects across the Network. With our small group breakout time, we'll also stigma towards disability during COVID-19 response and the need for more social awareness that 1 in 4 Americans has a disability. Strategies for addressing barriers in reaching out to public health, medical care, and emergency management to be a resource on disability inclusion will be explored.

As a follow up to the webinar: Families: What They are Saying, and how UCEDDs and LENDs can help. We have invited 3 family leaders from the ECPC/DEC Family Cohort to bring their perspectives to the conversation. Disparities, access to technology, food, housing, job security and appropriate bi-lingual services including adequate support to teach at home have been identified as barriers. This panel of family members will join Ann and Rud Turnbull to discuss their perspectives on these challenges and how the UCEDDs can help.

In this webinar, members of the FASD SIG will present resources for increasing your knowledge about FASD, training others, and supporting individuals with lived experience and their families. Attendees are encouraged to share resources they find helpful. Following the presentation and discussion, participants will have a general conversation about strategies for building a strong network of programs serving individuals with FASD.

This webinar will explore the unique intersection of disability, mental health, and people of color. People of color experience higher rates of disability and mental health conditions, but often face decreased access to care and other co-occurring health disparities. This presentation will highlight these inequities and discuss how we can work towards eliminating these disparities and becoming stronger allies for people of color. During this webinar, speakers from two large rural states will describe approaches they've used to stay connected and support families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their use of distance technology will be highlighted as a means of reducing exposure to COVID-19 and in maximizing the reach of their efforts. The programs featured are the University of Wyoming's ECHO for Families and the Autism Family Support Program at the University of South Dakota Center for Disabilities.
