The 6th ICBD is being organized by the Institute of Human Genetics-National Institutes of Health, University of the Philippines Manila and the Asia Pacific Society for Human Genetics, with support from the March of Dimes Foundation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, USA.

The 2013 AUCD Conference will be held at the Washington, DC, Renaissance Hotel.

This event presents both general and concurrent sessions on a variety of topics related to higher education for students with intellectual disabilities. A Networking Reception is planned for Saturday, 11/16 at the completion of the day's events--a chance to meet and greet conference attendees and presenters.

The Walking Together conference will convene nationally recognized scholars and local community leaders to look at ways that communities throughout history cared for persons with what would now be called mental illness and host a community-wide conversation where we reimagine together our contemporary healing work.

On Sunday evening immediately before the Disability Policy Seminar, AUCD is hosting a special Trainee Symposium and Reception. Hill staffers will provide a behind-the-scenes look into what it takes to live and work on Capitol Hill and share the ins and outs of some current legislative items, and trainees will have plenty of time to meet others from around the country.

On April 13, 2014, LEND students and trainees will participate in active learning strategies and case-based discussions around working with children with autism spectrum disorder and hearing loss. Participants will be placed in large and small group settings and will be encouraged to share personal experiences and best practices while reviewing case studies. In its 13th year, the EHDI Meeting has built a strong reputation for bringing together a wide variety of attendees including those who: work in state Early Hearing Detection and Intervention programs; assist in EHDI efforts on the federal level; provide screening, diagnostic and early intervention support at the state/ local level to young children with hearing loss and their families; champion Medical Home activities within each state; are parents of children with hearing loss; or are deaf or hard-of-hearing adults who are helping to expand opportunities for young children with hearing loss. EHDI Meeting participants will range from state and local programs to the federal level and from academics to families.

The APHA Disability Section will be conducting their third webinar in this series. The purpose of these webinars is to promote learning, to provide an opportunity for students and Disability Section members to share their research throughout the year!
