AUCD, The Arc of the United States, United Cerebral Palsy, AAIDD, SABE, and the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities are joining together again to host the 2010 Disability Policy Seminar.

AUCD has created an innovative national resource for early career professionals who have received interdisciplinary training in developmental disabilities to further develop their leadership. This webinar will introduce you to the features of this fresh and interactive website.

Poster and breakout sessions will focus on innovative research, practices, and policy initiatives that will guide us as we face the challenges and opportunities for this new decade. This will be your chance to meet our new CEO (titles change over time!) and hear this person's vision for the future of the association and the field.

This 4-part webinar series will address aspects of health reform that have or will have significant impact on people with disabilities. Webinars will also address opportunities for AUCD network members.

This webinar will address the involvement of people with disabilities in the operations of the UCEDD through their own experiences and stories. Topics of the presentation will include: the perspectives of people with disabilities on their work in the UCEDD, some examples of successful family involvement, and experiences working with the Consumer Advisory Council (CAC)/Council on Community Advocacy (COLA). This state-of-the-science conference is the culmination of four years of translational research designed to enhance full community participation by people with disabilities. Researchers with the Research and Training Center on Measurement and Interdependence in Community Living (RTC/MICL) have used multiple methods and measures to discover, assess and intervene in both personal and environmental factors related to community participation.

The Gatlinburg Conference continues its tradition as one of the premier conferences in the United States for behavioral scientists conducting research in intellectual and related developmental disabilities. The theme of the conference this year is: Adolescence and Developmental Disabilities: From Neurobiology to Interventions.
