Achieving Weight Loss in Adults with Intellectual Disability: Lessons Learned Inside the Ropes

Join this AAIDD webinar to hear more about a diet and incentive program designed by a multi-disciplinary team at The University of Kansas (KU) including dieticians, exercise physiologists, and behavior analysts. The program was a combination of reduced-calorie packaged meals (PM) and a modified stoplight approach (SLDm) coupled with encouragement to increase walking. The primary objective of this presentation is to share details not likely to see inclusion in formal publications. The presenters have personally served as the interventionists for over 100 of the IDD participants. They intend to offer observations and insights helpful to those who may be considering interventions.

CAAI Webinar: Building systems of care for children and youth with ASD through the CAAI training, research, and demonstration grants

This webinar is the fifth of the Combating Autism Act Initiative (CAAI) webinar series, Research to Practice, and will highlight lessons learned from combating autism act grantees regarding building systems of care that meet the needs of children & youth with ASD/DD & their families. Participants are encouraged to ask questions during the webinar. The CAAI webinar series is designed to showcase successes of CAAI grantees, connect attendees to CAAI grantees, and highlight CAAI activities. The series runs from April through August 2012 and will replace the annual face-to-face CAAI conference.

EIEC Webinar: Care Coordination: Definition, Standardization, Models, and Outcomes; Special Populations: Military Families

This webinar began with definitions and models of care coordination and addressed care coordination with military families. Participants learned about work done in Colorado to define and standardize care coordination functions and outcomes; this work may be useful to other states as they design and enact collaborative models of care coordination.
