UCEDD Strategic Planning Planning in a University Context

This webinar addressed methods for exploring the background and context of a Center's situation to address the following: The unique contexts UCEDD, have in their university structures; Strategies to identify a UCEDD, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats; Strategies for prioritizing issues and identifying possible allies within the university and nationally; and;Strategies for creating, implementing, and monitoring an action plan.

Strategies to Incorporate the Voices of People with Significant Disabilities in UCEDD Information-Gathering and Operations

This webinar presented strategies for more inclusive evaluations and assessments from a UCEDD implementing these strategies. The webinar also included a presentation on the values and tools from person-centered planning that can inform inclusive information-gathering.

EIEC Webinar: Updating the DEC Recommended Practices

DEC is currently updating the Recommended Practices and has appointed a Commission to oversee the activities associated with that workscope. The Early Childhood Technical Assistance (ECTA) Center is supporting the Commission work through their OSEP cooperative agreement. This webinar will give an overview of the Commission's work to update the practices as well as the work of the Topical Work Group on Screening and Assessment. This will be a discussion format.

Enhancing the Effectiveness of Consumer Advisory Committees (CACs)

UCEDDs continue to explore different approaches for enhancing meaningful participation of their CACs. Some states report a disconnect between the efforts of the CAC and the work of the UCEDD. This webinar provides an opportunity for UCEDDs and CAC members to share some innovative practices and strategies that have been found useful in enhancing the effectiveness of CACs.

It is a place to find accessible information on current topics in self-advocacy. AUCD's Diversity and Inclusion Blueprint team hosts a community conversation for UCEDDs and LEND to engage in open dialogue about the challenges they face in services, programming, and recruitment in regards to diversity and inclusion. This is an opportunity to also share strategies to better improve practices, as well as the operational and infrastructure considerations to support those practices.
