Families are facing many challenges during this Covid-19 Public Health Crisis. If a family has a child with a disability, these challenges are magnified. This webinar will share information collected from surveys of families with children with disabilities from around the country as they cope with Covid 19. A panel of family leaders will then discuss what UCEDDS and LENDs can do to help families and their children now, and in the near future.

Join AUCD's Town Hall on Disability Integration with Public Health and Emergency Response as a space for sharing health related programs and projects across the Network. With our small group breakout time, we'll also stigma towards disability during COVID-19 response and the need for more social awareness that 1 in 4 Americans has a disability. Strategies for addressing barriers in reaching out to public health, medical care, and emergency management to be a resource on disability inclusion will be explored.

Anxiety is a common co-occurring concern for many people with IDD (including ASD). In this time of COVID, everyone is experiencing heightened anxiety. For this population in particular we need to be aware of this underlying anxiety and provide strategies to help people manage their symptoms. This panel presentation will describe how anxiety may present in people with IDD and demonstrate effective strategies to address these anxieties.

During this webinar, speakers from two large rural states will describe approaches they've used to stay connected and support families during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their use of distance technology will be highlighted as a means of reducing exposure to COVID-19 and in maximizing the reach of their efforts. The programs featured are the University of Wyoming's ECHO for Families and the Autism Family Support Program at the University of South Dakota Center for Disabilities.

The Covid-19 pandemic has threatened to overwhelm health care resources, leading to discussions about how to deploy life-saving interventions such as ventilators. Crisis standards of care policies have been criticized as discriminating against people with disabilities and older Americans. The goal of this webinar is to facilitate discussion, clarify concepts, and explore the best strategies for protecting the rights of people with disabilities in a health care crisis.

This project is supported by a $40 million award from the U.S. Department of Human and Health Services Office of Minority Health as part of the National Infrastructure for Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 within Racial and Ethnic Minority Communities (NIMIC). "Learn the Signs. Act Early." (LTSAE) is a CDC program that promotes collaboration among early childhood programs in states and territories so children with autism or other developmental delays and disabilities can be identified early and referred to appropriate services and supports. This past year the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) funded 43 states and territories to focus on early childhood state systems to support recovery and strengthen resilience skills, behaviors, and resources of children, families, and communities during the COVID-19 Pandemic. This webinar will provide an overview of LTSAE, the purpose and scope of the Act Early Response to COVID-19 and include a high-level overview of findings from the Act Early/COVID-19 Response Team needs assessment process.

In this webinar, presenters will discuss lessons learned from the COVID-19 pandemic to modify a professional development program designed to support early childhood educators in using assistive technology with young children with disabilities. Following a brief overview of the core features of our coaching model, presenters will discuss responsiveness to the needs of both parents and educators as they pivoted to using AT for remote learning. The presentation will highlight unique challenges, unexpected benefits, key takeaways, and implications for the future of AT training in a virtual world.

This informational session about the National COVID Cohort Collaborative (N3C) will discuss the largest limited electronic health record data set in the US and opportunities for collaborative research within the AUCD network as part of the Lifespan Disability Domain. The N3C aims to improve the efficiency and accessibility of analyses using a very large patient-level COVID-19 clinical dataset and demonstrate a novel approach for collaborative pandemic data sharing.
