disability activists & self-advocates!

  • Best practice do’s and don’ts when meeting persons with disabilities
  • How to be an effective ally and advocate
  • The internal process of change when one fully embraces their disability identity

  • Emily Ladau, well-known disability rights activist and writer
  • Toni Saia, San Diego State University’s Assistant Professor and Director of the Rehabilitation Technology Certificate Program
  • Nina G, comedian, author, and professional speaker
  • Rasheera Dopson, IHD’s Inclusive Excellence Fellow and disability justice consultant, researcher, and influencer
  • Karla Rivas Parker, AzTAP’s Assistive Technology Specialist

Also presenting are IHD’s Assistant Director of Academic Programs Dr. Sakénya McDonald and  Arizona’s Rehabilitation Services Administration’s (RSA) Assistive Technology Coordinator, Sue LeHew.

All sessions will be virtual, using the Zoom platform. Upon registration and payment, links will be sent to attendees.

Northern Arizona University CE certificates will automatically be emailed to participants. Participants will receive separate CE certificates for each complete session they attend.
