Webinar Description:

Presenters from The Ohio State University (OSU) Nisonger Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) will provide an overview of knowledge translation (KT), discuss general methods and specific strategies to conduct KT activities with stakeholders, and describe their research project's KT model and process. Participants will also see examples developed by the team in consultation with the project's Disability Experience Expert Panel, a group of research partners with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This is a webinar by AUCD's National Training Directors Council (NTDC).

Andrew Buck, Learning and Development Consultant

Andrew Buck joined Nisonger Center in 2013 and currently serves as a Learning and Development consultant in the Transition Services department and on the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center project. He is also a Ph.D. student in Educational Policy at OSU. Andrew has 14 years of experience as an education specialist, including roles in academic research, professional development training, curriculum development, and teaching and advising students with ID/DD in secondary and postsecondary settings. He facilitates the RRTC's panel of stakeholders with ID/DD and provides guidance to the RRTC researchers on knowledge translation activities and clear language product development.

Christine Brown joined Nisonger Center staff in 2017 as a self-advocate and Clinical Research Assistant. Her duties include supporting and increasing the collaboration among children and adults with ID/DD and Nisonger researchers. She also works on assisting Nisonger Center faculty and staff with issues related to cognitive accessibility and in advocating for policy changes for individuals with ID/DD at not only the state level but also the federal level. Ms. Brown coordinates the Self-Advocates Advisory Committee for both Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities. Ms. Brown has co-chaired the panel of individuals with disabilities who advise the RRTC project for the past three years.
