Webinar Description:
We invite you to join the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD), the National COVID-19 Resiliency Network (NCRN), and the for a webinar on 'Strategies for COVID-19 Vaccine Access and Confidence for People with Disabilities'. AUCD network members will share outreach strategies, lessons learned, and continuing barriers in the goal of vaccinating all eligible persons with disabilities by the 31st Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on July 26th. Presenters will provide real-world examples of their vaccination outreach efforts, including:
- A fully accessible COVID-19 vaccine drive-through clinic serving persons with disabilities in Baltimore, MD;
- 'Real Talk' community Q&A events for persons with disabilities to ask trusted doctors about the COVID-19 vaccine in Florida;
- Providing COVID-19 vaccine information to persons with disabilities residing in the Navajo nation through podcasts and other innovative collaborations in New Mexico;
- And more!
The webinar will also speak to how we can better include people with disabilities, including those from racial and ethnic minorities, in future public health emergency planning. ASL and CART captioning will be provided.
