Webinar Description:

This interactive workshop introduces data visualization, including a step-by-step process and tips to creating an accessible infographic. Participants will gain basic skills and understand the utility of infographics to make data more accessible. Participants are encouraged to bring infographics to contribute to discussion. After the presentation, participants should be able to apply their knowledge by synthesizing data into a simple narrative and design their own infographic.

Presenters:

Ashley J. Salmon

Ashley J. Salmon, MPH, is the Research Coordinator Consultant for the Morehouse School of Medicine National COVID-19 Resiliency Network (MSM NCRN) project at the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD). In addition she is a Research Associate at the Center for Leadership in Disability (UCEDD/LEND) at Georgia State University, and member of AUCD's Multicultural Council. Ashley's expertise is centered on data management, data analysis and writing. She is a data scientist with experience designing clear data collection and management, performing non-parametrical analyses, quality control analyses as well as creating statistical graphics and data visualizations. Ashley has a Master of Public Health in Biostatistics from Georgia State University.

 

Photo of Bridgette Marie SchramBridgette Marie Schram is a doctoral student in Public Health at Georgia State University where she is also a graduate research assistant at The Center for Leadership in Disability. Her research explores health disparities faced by people with disabilities, particularly examining how society constructs disabling environments that may influence access and participation in the social determinants of health. Schram is also interested in the development and evaluation of community-based programs that support inclusive participation.
