AUCD's Emerging Leaders Interns, Meghan and Jazmin will demonstrate how to market your LEND, UCEDD, DBP or IDDR training for professional growth, stress the importance of staying connected with the EL Community, and share ways to get involved with the AUCD network-your professional home!

The Children's Hospital at Montefiore, Bronx, NY


Meghan Breheney is a third-year fellow in the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics Fellowship Program at the Rose F. Kennedy Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore in the Bronx, NY. She is a LEND Fellow and Maternal Child Health Bureau long-term trainee. Meghan received her Medical Degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School in 2014 and completed a residency in General Pediatrics at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2016.

On a day-to-day basis, Meghan provides developmental evaluations as well as on going family center care to children with developmental disabilities in the Bronx. In addition Meghan's current research focuses on the early identification of developmental delays in children with severe and chronic medical conditions. She also oversees and teaches pediatric residents and medical students who rotate through the center. In her free time, Meghan enjoys running in Central Park, hiking in upstate New York and trying as many of New York City's Restaurants as she can.

US Davis MIND Institute, Sacramento, CA

Jazmin Burns is a Postdoctoral Scholar Fellow in the LEND program at the UC Davis MIND Institute. Jazmin graduated from Alliant International University - Sacramento in May 2019 with her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology. She has been a part of the UC Davis MIND Institute and UC Davis Health System serving in many different roles since 2012. Her passion includes working with individuals who have neurodevelopmental disabilities and/or experienced trauma. Her passion also includes learning more about mental health policy and advocacy so that she can further support and empower families who feel as though they do not have a voice. Jazmin's dream is to continue to work at the UC Davis MIND Institute as a clinical psychologist, while simultaneously starting a private practice to serve underrepresented populations who have neurodevelopmental disabilities and mental health needs. In her free time, Jazmin enjoys traveling, cooking, eating, singing, watching movies/TV, playing videogames, and spending time with her husband and three cats.
