About this Webinar

Ensuring that linguistically diverse children receive valid developmental assessment for neurodevelopmental disorders requires medical interpreters and interdisciplinary providers work as partners. The UW LEND developed a training curriculum for medical interpreters supporting providers conducting developmental assessments. This webinar describes the curriculum and training designed by the UW LEND for medical interpreters working in pediatric settings.

Presenters

Kathleen Lehman, Ph.D., Psychologist
University of Washington Center on Human Development and Disability

Kathleen LehmanDr. Lehman is a Licensed Psychologist who has worked in the field of developmental disabilities for over 25 years. She is the LEND Psychology Discipline leader, provides consultation to the UW LEND self-advocate faculty, and supervises and trains the postdoctoral psychology fellows working in the CHDD specialty clinics. Prior to joining the UW LEND faculty, Dr. Lehman was a LEND postdoctoral fellow in the UW LEND program.

 

 

Anne Leavitt, M.D., Developmental Pediatrician 
University of Washington Center on Human Development and Disability

Anne LeavittDr. Leavitt is a developmental pediatrician who has worked in the field for 30 years. She provides clinical services in several interdisciplinary settings. In the UW LEND, she provides clinical supervision and training to residents and developmental pediatric fellows and sees patients in many of the CHDD specialty clinics. Dr. Leavitt is the co-director of the Cristine M. Trahms Program for Phenylketonuria.

 

 

Kay Kopp, OTR/L, Occupational Therapist
University of Washington Center on Human Development and Disability

Kay KoppKay Kopp's professional career spans over 3 decades in pediatric occupational therapy and includes clinical work and consultation in early intervention, school settings, and private practice. She has particular interest in serving children challenged by sensory processing differences. In her current position in UW LEND, Kay supervises occupational therapy trainees and sees patients in several of the CHDD specialty clinics. Kay heads the CHDD Clinical Services Committee and is a member of the Washington Elks Therapy Program Medical Advisory Board.
