Across the country, states are transforming the way they finance and deliver Medicaid long-term services and supports for individuals with disabilities. Many states are considering Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS) programs as a way to improve coordination, promote systems change, and achieve savings. There are potential benefits, but also significant concerns for individuals with ID/DD. Stakeholder engagement from individuals with disabilities and their families and strong federal oversight are critical as states consider developing and implementing programs. The President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities (PCPID) convened experts on MLTSS and issued a report with numerous specific recommendations. This webinar provided an overview of MLTSS, explained key issues for individuals with ID/DD, and highlighted recommendations contained in the report.
