The Spectrum of Developmental Disabilities activity will provide an interdisciplinary approach to the issues of ADHD. This multidisciplinary course will review ADHD, including epidemiology, genetic and neuroimaging issues, diagnostic overlaps, associated dysfunctions, evaluation and management, outcomes and future directions.

Objectives:

  • Recognize the impact of comorbid conditions on the treatment of ADHD
  • Distinguish the effects of age or gender on the evaluation and management of ADHD
  • Identify the deficits in academic function that are associated with ADHD
  • Consider the special issues involved with treating athletes with ADHD
  • Evaluate the implications of the advances in neurobiology on the management of ADHD
