Location: Webinar

AMCHP will host a webinar on Wednesday, February 1, which will highlight findings from the AMCHP Issue Brief, Roles for State Title V Programs: Building Systems of Care for Children and Youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder and Other Developmental Disabilities (ASD/DD). The issue brief outlines a range of roles for Title V as leader, partner and facilitator; provides state resources and examples to share with policy makers in leadership, outreach and awareness, and family participation; highlights ongoing challenges in data and financing, as well as opportunities for collaborative approaches; and provides opportunities for peer-to-peer technical assistance.

The purpose of the webinar is to help states, primarily Title V programs, determine appropriate roles and approaches to pursue in building systems of care for children and youth with ASD/DD. The webinar will provide examples from state programs to demonstrate the breadth and depth of involvement from state Title V programs and their partners.

Webinar presenters will include Stephanie Birch, MCH Title V and CYSHCN Director Section Chief of Women's, Children's and Family Health at the State of Alaska Department of Health and Social Services, Division of Public Health; Janet Farmer, PhD, Director of Academic Programs at the Thompson Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders at the University of Missouri; and Treeby Brown, MPP, Senior Program Manager for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs at AMCHP.
