Vita/Bio
Christine King has worked in the field of disabilities for over 25 years as a peer mentor, direct service provider, event coordinator, and systems change advocate. Ms. King has provided technical assistance and training on issues that affect individuals with disabilities in the arenas of employment and work incentives, personal care assistance, and justice issues. She currently works at the University of Alaska - Center for Human Development (CHD) as a Project Director for the Disability Justice Initiative, a statewide collaborative effort to increase community awareness of the high incidence of interpersonal violence against victims with disabilities and to promote the dignity of victims with disabilities through community education and training as well as coordinates the annual statewide “Serving Offenders with Cognitive Impairments conference. She is a Commissioner for the Municipality of Anchorage's ADA Advisory Commission as well a Council member for the Governor's Council on Disabilities and Special Education.
