Vita/Bio

Harriet Austin, PhD, is an Instructor of Pediatrics and Clinic Coordinator of the Autism Treatment Network (ATN) in Colorado. Dr Austin's professional training is as a biologist (BS Vanderbilt University 1979; MA and PhD, University of Colorado, Boulder, 1985, 1988). She is the parent of three sons, one of whom is on the Autism Spectrum. Dr. Austin serves as the Parent Discipline Director for the LEND Grant. Professionally, she's taught Human Anatomy and Physiology classes to premed and nursing students since 1988. In 2003, Dr. Austin founded the Invisible Child organization, a non-profit to offer national educational conferences about pediatric brain disorders, including autism. She started the PECK support group in Boulder County in 2000 and also organizes a monthly Autism Family Potluck at Children's Hospital.
