Current Employment, Sherlock Center on Disabilities @ Rhode Island College::
• Accessible Content Manager / Webmistress/ Graphic Designer, create/maintain fully ADA accessible web sites, design publications and graphics as needed. Design and convert forms (IEP, etc) from Word to interactive, fillable PDFs. The website, www.sherlockcenter.org, has been approved by Bobby and W3C which assures accessibility to people who use alternate browsers or software to ‘view' web pages, either because of a sensory or visual impairment. Track stats and trends for the website (traffic, locations, popularity, etc.)
• Dual Sensory Impairment Project, specializing in adaptation of toys and equipment for children with vision/hearing impairments, advocacy, database creation (Access) and maintenance, navigating the Medicaid system, IEP writing, creating/coordinating adapted literature that provides equal access to the general curriculum to all students, check submitted adapted books (writing with symbols) for continuity, age appropriateness, and readability.
• Adjunct Professor / Rhode Island College / College of Business / Department of CIS, currently teaching Web Design and Development to upper classmen; formerly teaching Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and general computer science. Emphasis on accessibility for all, including web portals (provided by the text book publishers).
• Member / RI/EOHHS Medicaid Redesign Committee, provide input and real life scenarios, as a parent of a young adult with disabilities who has to use the system
• Videographer / Still Photographer / Artist Liaison, ‘Live from RI', WSBE Channel 36 (PBS)
