Vita/Bio

Nikkilee Pedersen is a Training and Consultation Specialist for the Community Based Instruction (CBI) Project at The Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities. She provides training and technical assistance regarding best practices in implementation, management, and sustainability of CBI.

Prior to her work at The Boggs Center, Nikkilee was a Special Education teacher and school district SLE coordinator. In this capacity, she developed an extensive community based instruction program to foster and prepare young adults with disabilities to transition from school to community life. She is dedicated to promoting the use of CBI and person centered approaches to enhance instructional programming and improve transition planning in school systems.

Nikkilee earned her Master’s degree in Special Education from Rider University and her Bachelor’s degree in History from Kean University. She is a certified teacher of Social Studies and Special Education K-12.
