Vita/Bio

Ms. Burnette has a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degre in speech-language pathology. She has over 25 years experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities in educational and residentail settings, specializing in Autism pectum Disorders and behavioral intervention. Ms. Burnette was previously certified by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as a Clinical Reviewer for the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring Project in Arkansas. She has extensive expereince as a consultant and conference speaker. Here roles at the UCEDD include serving as the Associate Director of the Center and the Diector for the Arkansas Autism PArtnership, the statewide medicaid Waiver rpogram for young children with ASD. She provides school-based consultation services for students with ASD, including classroom observations of students, assistance with IEP develoment, and subsequent staff training. Ms. Burnette is the Chairperson of the Technical Advsory Board for the Arkansas Autism Resource & Outreach Center (AAROC), a non-profit organization whose mission is to "provie hope, direction and support" for families statewide who are impacted by ASD.
