Shari Kinney has a Bachelors Degree in Biology and Human Development from the University of Kansas and a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Oklahoma. She has a Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Public Health and a Doctor of Public Health from the University of Oklahoma. Shari has over 30 years of professional practice experience including hospital nursing in neonatal intensive care and pediatrics, Chief of Screening and Special Services at the Oklahoma State Department of Health and Administrator for the Cleveland and McClain County Health Departments. Her teaching experience consists of two years full time in undergraduate nursing and over twelve years teaching graduate students as an adjunct faculty in nursing and public health. Her research experience includes a masters thesis, a dissertation and experience of seven years supervising research through grant program management and serving on the Oklahoma State Department of Health Institutional Review Board. Dr. Kinney is currently an Assistant Professor in Health Administration in Policy at the College of Public Health at the University of Oklahoma and is also the Coordinator for Public Health Practicum.
