Vita/Bio
The long-term goal of my research has been to develop and implement sensitive and specific tools for infant auditory assessment that can be used by pediatric audiologists. My research in this area started in the mid-late 1970's as a graduate student, and has continued to this day. I have developed and evaluated technologies for of screening and diagnostic ABR and ASSR that are used in clinics today. My research focus has been on innovative yet practical methods to improve the assessment of hearing using auditory evoked potentials. The scientific basis of these methods is my research aimed at determining the impact of auditory system maturation on electrophysiologic indicators of hearing integrity.
