JANE SQUIRES, Ph.D.  is a Professor of Early Intervention/Special Education, Director of the Early Intervention Program at the University of Oregon, and Director of the University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities and the Center on Human Development. 

 Dr. Jane Squires oversees research and outreach projects in the areas of developmental screening, social-emotional competence, early identification of developmental delays, and the involvement of parents in monitoring of their young children's development. With Diane Bricker, she is author of the Ages & Stages Questionnaires, the most widely used screening tool for young children from birth to five years in the world. She currently directs a systems change grant, Family Early Advocacy and Treatment (FEAT), focused on improving identification, treatment, and referral of substance-exposed newborns and conducts research on developmental screening in a variety of settings. Personnel training including teaching courses on early intervention and prevention, early childhood foundations, curriculum, and assessment are among her areas of expertise in addition to developmental screening and early identification of young children from birth to 5 years of age.
