Vita/Bio

Dr. Wallace has over 25 years experience promoting good nutrition for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including coordinating an interdisciplinary team to help people with IDD and their caregivers improve nutrition and develop skills for better health. She has worked with various community agencies for people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has been active nationally within the dietetic community, and co-authored for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, both the Standards of Practice and Professional Practice for nutrition in IDD, and also a Position Paper on providing services for people with IDD. She is currently the Chief of Nutrition at the Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities, at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. Her caseload and expertise also include people of all ages with Inherited Metabolic Disorders.
She has a doctorate in Higher and Adult Education with a concentration in adult learning and continuing professional edcuation, a M.S. in Public Health Nutrition, and her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. She is a registered dietitian/nutritionist (RDN), is licensed in TN as a dietitian/nutritionist (LDN), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
