Vita/Bio

Jim is a member of the Oglala Lakota (Sioux) Nation. His mom Beverly grew up on the Pine Ridge Reservation and is currently at South Dakota State University School of Nursing and his dad, Jim Sr. worked in international business finance. His brother Don is Chair of Public Health at North Dakota State University. Jim earned a BS from Arizona State University and MS and a Post-Graduate Certificate from San Diego State University (SDSU). Jim created and administered continuing Ed programs at SDSU (http://interwork.sdsu.edu/main/caire) Interwork Institute from 1993-2015. Currently Jim is the Community Engagement Director at University of South Dakota Center for Disabilities. In 2017, Jim wrote nearly one million in several grants for University of South Dakota and Sinte Gleska University to establish partnerships with Tribal Colleges.
Jim is President of his consulting firm, Warrior Society Development, LLC. He works with various government agencies, organizations and Tribal Nations. Jim's a motivational speaker with experience in Professional Football, Acting and Film Production, Indian Country Advocacy, Congressional Testimonies, Cultural Diversity, Youth Athletic/Life Skills Camps, Organizational Development and Grants Management. WSD Productions Division produced "7th Generation", an Award Winning documentary film.
