Vita/Bio

Brittney Wright, MCD, CCC-SLP

Brittney received her Master's degree in Communication Disorders from LSUHSC. During graduate school, Brittney was a featured speaker at numerous conferences on augmentative and alternative communication systems with Meher Banajee, Ph.D. CCC-SLP. This opportunity bolstered her passion and expertise in assessment and intervention for young children with complex communication needs. Brittney has experience in the area of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT). She was a South River Region AT facilitator for the Louisiana Assistive Technology Initiative (LATI). She participated in an Early Steps Transdisciplinary team using coaching strategies with families and caregivers to embed evidence-based practices in home and childcare settings. She has been involved in the HDC’s ASD diagnostic clinic team and also served as a clinician at LSUHSC's Speech-Language Hearing clinic. In 2013, she joined the LASARD team as a facilitator for the statewide ASD training and technical assistance project working with school-based interdisciplinary teams. Recently, she was named the HDC LEND Project Coordinator, which is an interdisciplinary leadership education program for health professionals caring for children and youth with disabilities and their families.
