Up to 10 awards of $500,000 each

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:
For-profit organizations; nonprofit organizations; public or private institutions such as universities, colleges, hospitals and laboratories; units of federal, state or local government; foreign and domestic institutions; faith-based or community-based organizations; and units of state or local tribal governments.

SUMMARY:
This program complements NIH's traditional, investigator-initiated grant programs by supporting individual scientists of exceptional creativity who propose pioneering approaches to major contemporary challenges in biomedical research.
