An applicant may request a project period of up to 3 years and a budget for direct costs of up to $225,000 per year.  This award is also nonrenewable, and is not transferable to another institution.  Applicants may request up to an additional $75,000 per year for such items as per-patient costs in services settings or neuroimaging charges; these additional funds must be strongly justified, and not used simply to augment the scope of the project

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to encourage the development of translational research partnerships between scientists who study basic behavioral processes and those who study the etiology, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mental and behavioral disorders (including alcohol and drug use disorders) and the delivery of services to those suffering from those disorders.
