The course is Jointly Sponsored by The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and the Kennedy Fellows Association/Kennedy Krieger Institute.

The purpose of this course is to focus on issues related to the evaluation, diagnosis, and management of behavioral disturbances in people with developmental disabilities. The course will augment the knowledge of pediatricians, psychiatrists, and neurologists who deal with people with developmental disabilities.

Who should Attend
This activity is intended for physicians, pediatricians, neurodevelopmentalists, developmental-behavioral pediatricians, pediatric neurologists, child psychiatrists, family practitioners, psychologists, speech pathologists, audiologists, special educators, social workers, and nurses.

Objectives
After attending this activity, the participant should be able to:

• Identify the neural mechanisms for some neurobehavior disorders
• Interpret the limitations of behavioral phenotypes
• Recognize the limitations of standard mental health evaluation for people with NDD

• Recognize the spectrum of neurobehavioral disturbance in disorders such as Down Syndrome, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Prader Will Syndrome, and Williams Syndrome
