Description
There are currently no federal laws specifically limiting school suspensions or expulsions, with the exception of protections that are established for students with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and civil rights laws guarding against discrimination. This research explores the impacts of a recent influx in states and school districts instituting suspension bans- particularly for younger students.Back to Session: Poster Symposium 1B: Education: K-12
