Description

Recent studies suggest individuals with ASD have a higher risk of developing a substance use disorder (SUD) than the general population. Social, educational and vocational demands put those mainstreamed into middle/high school, college and typical work settings at risk for developing a SUD. This poster presents the protective and risk factors of ASD for developing an SUD and the current research on connections between ASD and substance use.
