Description
Providing therapy to children/adolescents with developmental disabilities is challenging. In a population that displays poor social awareness, low cognitive skills and poor adaptive and emotional development, I have looked outside traditional psycho-therapeutic modalities. This presentation will demonstrate the use of approaches which have been successful in working with children/adolescents with developmental disabilities specifically to increase independence and social awareness while also decreasing anxiety, depression, anger and other behavior issues.Back to Session: Poster Symposium: Diagnostic and Clinical Services
