Sunday, November 5, 2017 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Location: Congressional Ballroom A

Session Description

We are excited to again offer a series of free Driving Change Sessions on Sunday morning of the conference. This year we have invited our Network's five Councils to each host a Driving Change Session. Each Council is excited to share information that is relevant to its own mission and goals. Get to know our Councils through this fun and interactive experience!

During this session, members of the Multicultural Council, as panelists, will address the importance of understanding social determinants, cultural and linguistic competency, and workforce diversity in promoting health equity for unserved and underserved racially/ethnically and other culturally diverse communities. Participate in an interactive Q&A style event, moderated by a panel of experts who will discuss how to explore ways in which your community is lifting its voice to drive change within the AUCD network as it relates to a range of topics such as cultural brokering, leadership, trainee involvement, capacity building, workforce diversity and organizational assessments. Come share and learn what is happening in the AUCD network to promote diversity, equity, inclusion and cultural-linguistic responsive services through collaboration, innovative practices and effective models.

Participate in this session and be a part of a learning and sharing environment where you will hear from and share ideas with leaders from around the network on how to drive change in a specific area of disability policy, advocacy, or research, and give them the opportunity to learn more about the topic from expert panelists and participate in guided roundtable discussions on the topic with other attendees. These sessions are free for all registered conference attendees.
