Then, through speakers and historical video clips, the plenary remembers some of the history, events, and people that led to the many accomplishments that have promoted equity and excellence for individuals with disabilities.

Opening Address

Tom Harkin
Senator Tom Harkin has been an advocate for people with disabilities and a friend of AUCD for decades. Senator Harkin reflects on the legislative accomplishments of the past 40 years that have improved the quality of life for people with disabilities and on the challenges we currently face as we continue our journey.

Historical Panel
