Session Description
All posters for the AUCD Conference will be presented throughout Monday and Tuesday in a series of poster symposia that run at the same time as concurrent sessions. During these 75-minute poster symposia, 10-14 posters on a similar theme will be grouped together in a room. Posters will be displayed on large boards and have a table underneath for accompanying materials. The session will be introduced by a moderator followed by brief introductions by presenters. Attendees will then be free to move around the room and connect with individual presenters for the remainder of the session. Attendees are welcome to move between symposia rooms and view posters on other topics. Conference posters will be available to view on the website and in the mobile app.

Using neuromarketing as a participatory research method to evaluate COVID-19 vaccine messaging for young adults with developmental disabilities.Presenter(s)
Angela Makris, MPH, Ms, Florida Center for Inclusive Communities, UCEDDPeople with developmental disabilities (PWDD) are significantly underrepresented in health communications research. The National Covid-19 Resiliency Network (NCRN) identified PWDD as a priority population for COVID-19 vaccine messaging. PWDD took part in focus groups and message testing. Eye-tracking was used to test messages to increase research participation. Eye-tracking shows what images and words are considered as respondents provide subjective responses.

Gideon Jagrup, MBA, Program Coordinator, Virgin Islands UCE, UCEDDVideo productions are sometimes used by UCEDDs to deliver educational messages that are intended to heighten community awareness, empathy, and inclusion of people with disability. WIHD's LEND scholarship trainee and graduate, Mr. Gideon Jagrup explored questions asked by project community partner, Virgin Islands University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (VIUCEDD), in preparation for a VIUCEDD community awareness film project. This poster exhibits those preliminary questions and their answers. (WIHD's LEND program partners with the University of the Virgin Islands - VIUCEDD to provide LEND scholarships to USVI territory trainees).
Evaluating the Impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on Families of Children and Youth from 0 to 21 years with Developmental Disabilities

Disparate Treatment of Puerto Rico Residents with Disabilities in Federal Programs and Benefits

This poster will provide the results of a qualitative study designed to explore disparities among federal programs such as the Supplemental Security Income Program (SSI), Medicaid and other federal programs compared to the states and other territories of the U.S.
The Gifted Event at Noble Barber and Beauty: Increasing Access to Successful Haircuts for Children with Developmental Disabilities

The Gifted Event is focused on increasing access to successful haircuts for children with developmental disabilities in a safe and welcoming environment.

CDC Act Early Ambassadors Lead State Teams to Support Recovery and Strengthen Resiliency, Behaviors, and Resources during the COVID-19 Pandemic

Act Early. program and AUCD are in year two of a collaborative project to provide support to early childhood state/territorial systems during COVID-19 response and mitigation efforts. Act Early Ambassadors lead state teams to address the challenges to early identification of developmental delay/disability. Ambassadors from 4 state share experiences in collaborative efforts and inter-professional work in support of parent-engaged developmental monitoring. Implications shared apply generally.

The sessions' purpose was to assess/prioritize the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families living on Guam in terms of the ten (10) areas of emphasis.
Experiences with self-directing supports during the COVID-19 pandemic

Libby Hallas, MS, Project Coordinator, Institute on Community Integration, UCEDD/LENDSelf-directed supports is a program in which people with disabilities, their families, and their allies directly manage their supports. People participating in New York State's self-direction plan were surveyed about their experiences with the impacts of COVID-19 on self-direction and lessons learned about emergency preparedness. This poster will present the themes that emerged from the findings of the survey, and implications for disaster preparedness for people who self-direct their services.

Meaningful Inclusion of Intellectual & Development Disabilities in Research: A Rural Approach to Health Outcomes

The ESRN adds the broader community, including IDD, to the research process. The ESRN provides meaningful engagement, inclusion and training of individuals with IDD related to patient-centered outcomes research.
