Session Description

We encourage all meeting attendees who are interested in supporting access to postsecondary education for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities and Autism to attend this SIG meeting. The meeting will be facilitated by Susanna Miller-Raines, Debra Hart and Cate Weir of Think College at the Institute for Community Inclusion, UMass Boston.

Susanna, Cate and Debra will share resources from Think College and facilitate discussion on current areas of focus in the inclusive postsecondary education movement and higher education for students with Autism. We encourage attendees to come with their own questions, resources to share, and ideas for how this SIG can make an impact throughout the UCEDD network. Denise Rozell from AUCD will share current activities of their organization how SIG members can be involved. Please join us!

About AUCD SIGS

Special Interest Groups, or SIGs, are made up of individuals in the AUCD network that have common topical interest. SIGs, which are open to anyone in the network, serve as a mechanism for sharing information, engaging in dialogue, and generating new ideas. SIGs are led by one or more individuals from the network (with AUCD staff support if needed); they typically meet in person at the AUCD Conference and may share information via email, conference call, or webinars throughout the year. Because SIGs are driven by the interests of the AUCD membership, new SIGs may emerge while ones that have run their course may disband.
