Interdisciplinary home assessments can be effective aging-in-place measures. Research on assessments conducted for rural residents documents common failings of homes to meet physical needs, the lack of supports negatively impacting aging-in-place, disconnects between perceived needs and identified critical needs, and future areas of work for policymakers and program providers.
