Addressing the Policy Tangle Report

Tuesday, November 13, 2018 12:00 PM - 1:15 PM

Location: Meeting Room 3

Session Description

We encourage all meeting attendees who are interested in supporting access to postsecondary education for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to attend this SIG meeting. The meeting will be facilitated by Debra Hart and Cate Weir of the Think College National Coordinating Center (NCC) at the Institute for Community Inclusion, UMass Boston.

The SIG will be discussing two primary issues: how IPSE programs are partnering and can  partner with their LEND programs; and how IPSE programs are partnering with vocational rehabilitation, including funding of IPSE services by VR and IDEA funding and the recent paper Addressing the Policy Tangle.

We encourage attendees to come with their own questions, resources to share, and ideas for how this SIG can make an impact throughout the UCEDD network. Please join us!

SIGs are made up of individuals in the AUCD network that have common topical interest. SIGs, which are open to anyone in the network, serve as a mechanism for sharing information, engaging in dialogue, and generating new ideas. SIGs are led by one or more individuals from the network (with AUCD staff support if needed); they typically meet in person at the AUCD Conference and may share information via email, conference call, or webinars throughout the year. Because SIGs are driven by the interests of the AUCD membership, new SIGs may emerge while ones that have run their course may disband.
