2024 AIR-P Research Day: Translating Research to Community Impact

The Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P) will be hosting its 7th semi-annual Research Day on July 22, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 Autism CARES Meeting. This virtual event is an opportunity to highlight research related to the physical health and overall well-being of autistic individuals. The 2024 theme is "Translating Research to Community Impact" and will feature poster presentations from across the nation. This virtual event is open to all.

2024 LEND Audiology Workshop at EHDI Conference

This workshop will introduce LEND pediatric audiology trainees to the various challenges associated with effectively serving deaf/hard of hearing children (including those with additional disabilities) from clinical practice and systems perspectives. LEND Lived Experience Virtual Summit

We are excited to invite you to the LEND Lived Experience Summit! The summit will be held via Zoom on Monday and Tuesday, March 4-5, 2024, from 3:00 PM-6:00 PM Eastern Time. The LEND Self-Advocate Discipline Network and LEND Family Discipline Network voted to join forces for future summits to showcase the work and best practices in both LEND disciplines.

LEND and Learn Monthly TA Series

The LEND and Learn session will be held Monday, February 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM ET, and the subject is IDD Curricula in the Health Professions: Results from a Medical Education Study and LEND capstone discussion. Kashia Rosenau, PhD, Clinical and Training Director at UC-LEND, University of California, Los Angeles, will facilitate this session.

AUCD hosted a webinar for trainees to learn about policies that support family and family caregivers. The participants received an overview and history of family support, current needs of families and family caregivers and policies and practices of Respite.

A different LEND program will lead each session, including a 15-minute presentation and a 45-minute discussion. Please note that this is not a webinar series. Instead, it is designed to be an informal opportunity for LENDs to connect on topics identified as top TA needs. DBP programs are welcome to participate.

The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network Presents: Introduction of the LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Competencies

The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network (LSDN) aims to strengthen the Self-Advocacy discipline across the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) network by supporting self-advocate trainees and faculty, developing best practices, and providing leadership opportunities across the LEND network. The LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Competencies are a product of the LEND Self-Advocacy Discipline Network.

2021 LEND Directors Meeting

Meeting Description: The 2021 LEND Directors Meeting will be held virtually on November 3rd from 2-5pm ET via Zoom. There will be an optional happy hour at 5pm ET. The OSU Nisonger RRTC Knowledge Translation Process

Presenters from The Ohio State University (OSU) Nisonger Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) will provide an overview of knowledge translation (KT), discuss general methods and specific strategies to conduct KT activities with stakeholders, and describe their research project's KT model and process. Participants will also see examples developed by the team in consultation with the project's Disability Experience Expert Panel, a group of research partners with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
