AIR-P Research Day at Autism CARES Meeting 2024: Translating Research to Community Impact

The Autism Intervention Research Network on Physical Health (AIR-P) will be hosting its 7th semi-annual Research Day on July 22, 2024, in conjunction with the 2024 Autism CARES Meeting. This virtual event is an opportunity to highlight research related to the physical health and overall well-being of autistic individuals. The 2024 theme is "Translating Research to Community Impact" and will feature poster presentations from across the nation. This virtual event is open to all.

Medicaid Education 101 for Trainees: Learn About Medicaid and Home and Community Based Services

AUCD hosted an educational webinar for trainees to learn about the structure and financing of the Medicaid program and Home and Community-Based Services. The speakers provided an overview of the Medicaid program and its structure and financing. The webinar also provided an overview of what is happening in Congress and the Administration regarding the Medicaid program.

This webinar is to celebrate the end of the academic year and share professional development tips with outgoing and continuing trainees in the Emerging Leaders Community, including advice on staying engaged with the AUCD network. Participants can also expect to hear from alumni trainees on how their training experience has helped them achieve professional and personal goals.

Self-Advocacy Training Series for LEND Programs

AUCD's Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance Center (ITAC) on Autism and Developmental Disabilities, in partnership with The Center for Leadership in Disability at Georgia State University, is hosting a series of virtual trainings for LEND Programs in October 2021 related to self-advocacy. While the intended audience is LEND leadership and faculty, all are welcome. Trainings will be conducted virtually and recorded and archived for those unable to attend the live sessions.

The LEND Family Discipline Network (LFDN) Presents: 2021 Family Discipline Summit

The LFDN, with support from AUCD's Interdisciplinary Technical Assistance Center (ITAC) on Autism and Developmental Disabilities, is hosting a series of facilitated workshops and conversations for leaders and trainees in the field of Family Support to discuss critical questions and share best practices for addressing equity for families within their programs and in life beyond their traineeship.

The Autism Friendly Initiative at Boston Medical Center: Improving the Healthcare Experience for Patients with Autism

This webinar will introduce participants to the work of the Autism Friendly Initiative, and to strategies of care optimization that are tailorable to any kind of healthcare practice. At the end of this webinar, participants will understand more about the specific challenges that face patients with ASD when seeking healthcare and will feel more prepared in determining how to address those challenges at their respective practices.

This event will orient new and returning trainees to the AUCD 2020 Conference. Presenters will highlight concurrent and poster sessions relevant to trainees' disciplines and professional interests. Presenters will outline AUCD Special Interest Groups (SIG), AUCD Councils, and AUCD workgroup meetings open for trainee participation.
