Jerry Alliston, PhD

Jerry R. Alliston, PhD, MSW, currently serves as the Coordinator for Community Inclusion, Volunteer Service, and Employment at the Institute for Disability Studies, a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities at The University of Southern Mississippi. Dr. Alliston has over 20 years of experience in the social sciences and disability fields focusing on medical social work, military disability case management, disaster case management, early intervention services, and transition services. In addition, Dr. Alliston serves as adjunct faculty for The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Child and Family Studies, the Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education and the School of Social Work.

Dr. Alliston received his doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi as well as a Master in Social Work degree. Dr. Alliston has recently concentrated on the development of inclusive national service programs, work initiatives and leadership programs and considers himself “blessed” to work with the future leaders of tomorrow.
