Yelena Simoen is the Meetings Intern for AUCD. She has previous meeting and event experience through her position as administrative assistant for Destination Planning Corporation, a Destination Management Company in Jacksonville, Florida. At her community college in Maryland, Yelena planned events in conjunction with student clubs and volunteered for numerous events around campus. She sees her internship at AUCD as a great learning opportunity and is excited to assist the members of the Association.
Yelena holds two associates degrees in Hospitality Management from Montgomery College, Maryland; one in Meeting, Conference and Event Planning and one in Food & Beverage. She has started a bachelor's program in Hotel and Restaurant Management at the University of Maryland: Eastern Shore, and is also working on an Event Management certification from George Washington University.
A native Belgian, Yelena lives with her parents and dog in Rockville, Maryland. In her spare time, she loves to travel and read books.
