Laura Martin is the Senior Director of Operations & Development at AUCD where she directs the organization's office operations and human resources, AUCD meetings and events, and Board of Directors activities. She also focuses on unrestricted corporate and individual giving for AUCD around the annual conference, annual gala and specific fundraising campaigns.

Prior to AUCD, Laura was the operations director for a non-profit in Washington, DC called Women In Government where she was responsible for managing the office administration, HR, finance and technology functions of the organization as well as coordinating their Board of Directors program.

Laura also worked for eight years at the American Red Cross National Headquarters in Washington, DC, where she led national in-kind donation efforts including in-kind training and support of volunteers and Red Cross chapters nationwide for disaster response as well as day to day in-kind donations management. She was instrumental in developing the Red Cross' international in-kind program in conjunction with international relief agencies and other NGO's and traveled to Nicaragua in 1999 after Hurricane Mitch to instruct and participate in their international logistics training program. She coordinated the national Red Cross in-kind response after 9/11 and traveled to ground zero to assist with their in-kind efforts in New York.

Laura is a graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with BA's in Art History and Journalism and earned her masters in nonprofit management at The Notre Dame University of Maryland. She loves spending time with her family and being outdoors!
