Committees & Work Groups

 

The National Community Education Directors' Council has standing and ad hoc committees to help carry out the activities of the Council. Each committee has a chair who facilitates the committee's activities and provides regular updates to the Council Chair and Steering Committee.

 
 

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee consists of NCEDC officers, the past Council Chair, active Standing Committee/ad hoc Task Force leaders and other individuals designated by the Council Chair. The group serves as the overall planning body for the Council. The Steering Committee's quarterly conference calls are announced on the Council list serve. Council members are welcome and encouraged to listen in and/or participate in these meetings.

 
 

Information Dissemination/Consumer Satisfaction

The role of the Dissemination Committee of the NCEDC is to work through NCEDC members to widely disseminate NCEDC projects/information, and to share information about exemplary outreach training products. The committee is also working on an initiative to expand the focus of the Council to include supporting interests and activities of staff from UCEDDs who are responsible for the dissemination core function.

 
 

Technical Assistance Committee

The role of the Technical Assistance Committee of the NCEDC is to plan, implement, and evaluate strategies to facilitate the provision of technical assistance among members. The committee identifies contributors to the "NCEDC Tips" which are posted periodically on the NCEDC portion of the AUCD web site and provide a forum to share helpful information regarding community education and outreach with other UCEDDs. The committee is also working to set-up and facilitate two teleconference calls over the next year on selected topics to provide UCEDDs with a with the opportunity to share experiences, resources and models that exist across the network.

 
 

Nominating/Awards Committee

The role of the Nominating/Rewards Committee is to nominate individuals to fill NCEDC offices and make recommendations for recipients of the annual AUCD awards.

 
 

Training Symposium Planning Committee

The role of the Training Symposium Planning Committee is to plan, coordinate, and evaluate an annual Training Symposium to address identified needs of NCEDC members. The symposium shall be offered at the AUCD Annual Meeting and is planned in collaboration with representatives from each of the AUCD Councils, committees and task forces.
