Position:          2013-2014 Postdoctoral Clinical Fellowship in Autism and Developmental Disabilities,
1 year, with the possibility of renewal for a 2nd year.

Description:
The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center (VKC) for Research on Human Development is accepting applications for a clinical psychology postdoctoral fellowship in the area of autism and related developmental disabilities. The mission of the VKC (http://kc.vanderbilt.edu/site/default.aspx) is to facilitate discoveries and best practices that make positive differences in the lives of persons with developmental disabilities and their families. The Vanderbilt Kennedy Center provides an exceptional research and training environment, reflecting synergy across our NICHD-supported Intellectual and Developmental Disability Research Center (IDDRC), MCHB-supported Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) grant, and programs within the Treatment and Research Institute for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TRIAD).

The fellowship is housed within TRIAD--the hub for campus-wide interdisciplinary work in autism research, service, outreach, and training http://kc.vanderbilt.edu/triad/. The fellow will make clinical contributions to innovative assessment, training, and support programs for children with autism and their families. This will include participation in various aspects of our vibrant autism research community. Much of this work will involve diagnostic evaluations of young children with suspected ASD through a variety of research projects and our hospital-based developmental clinic. Additional activities will include developing and delivering training modules to parents and school personnel in collaboration with our TRIAD Outreach Team and Families First program. Trainees may also have the opportunity to provide evidence-based treatment to young children with ASD.

As an integral part of the training year, the VKC/TRIAD fellow will serve as a long-term trainee under our Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program. The fellow's role as a long-term trainee requires participation in at least 300 hours of classes, seminars, and required activities during the academic year.

This postdoctoral clinical fellowship is a one-year paid position with fringe benefits, commencing September 2013. A detailed description of university benefits is available at: http://hr.vanderbilt.edu/benefits/benefitspackage.htm Previous clinical training and experience in working with children with autism spectrum disorders are required, as is completion of an APA-accredited PhD/PsyD clinical, school or related program and internship. Completion of dissertation defense and other graduation requirements prior to September start date is highly preferred as a provisional license in TN will be required. Supervision toward licensure will be provided.

Application Process:  Applications should include:  a current curriculum vitae, a letter describing clinical and research interests and experience, one letter of reference, and the contact information for at least two additional references who may be contacted if needed. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until position is filled. We anticipate offering interviews beginning in January 2013. Vanderbilt University is an equal opportunity, affirmative action employer with a strong institutional commitment to diversity in all areas.
